Hybrid (Supplier Growth Manager)



A vacancy exists for a Hybrid (Supplier Growth Manager) within the Kazang – Micro Merchant Division, in Johannesburg.  

SGM are responsible for the day-to-day operations of multiple stores or locations within their assigned area. They ensure that each location meets operational standards, including sales targets, customer service goals, and compliance with company policies. They manage growth and opportunities within their area. This includes monitoring Vault Reps, optimizing resources, and ensuring that growth targets are met while maintaining profitability. SGM oversee training programs for store personnel within their area. They ensure that employees receive proper training on product knowledge, customer service skills, and operational procedures to perform their roles effectively. SGM handle operational issues and challenges that arise within their area. They use problem-solving skills to address issues promptly and effectively, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Onboarding of new Suppliers onto Kazang platform.
  • Managing existing supplier relationships.
  • Co-operating with Kazang sales structures to maximise volumes to suppliers.
  • Building Kazang cashless payments ecosystem.
  • Managing a team of Supplier and Vault Reps

In order to be considered for this position, the following requirements must be met:

  • Matric
  • 5 years’ experience in Sales, Account Management, or Business Development in FMCG or Payments company.
  • Experience in the per-urban/rural ‘Informal’ economy would be advantageous.
  • Skilled in sales and negotiation at informal level as well as well as semi-corporate partners.
  • Well networked within ‘informal’ Business value chains particularly large wholesalers and FMCG suppliers.

Technical Competencies: Computer literacy – Outlook, MS Office Suite.
